How much weight can a 20 gallon fish tank/aquarium hold?

We’re putting some large rocks in our fish tank and we’re a bit worried about the added weight. Does anyone know how much weight a fish tank that size is equipped to support?

i would have thought that if the base is well supported all over its area then it shouuld hold whatever weight you put in it. just dont rest ornaments against the sides and make sure the stand that the tank is on is strong enough to hold all the weight.

A gallon of water weighs 8 pounds, so 8×20=160 pounds and the weight of the gravel and what ever you have in it.

if the tank is on a solid stand and u dont chip the glass when u put them in i dont imagine it should be a problem! ive seen saltwater tanks with huge amounts of live rock, coral and all that kinda stuff and they are ok.
