How much will it cost for an aquarium (tank, filter, etc) excluding fishes.?
March 9th, 2010 | by admin |It will be a 20 gallon tank for tetras.
Walmart here had 10 gallon starter tanks for about 40 bucks. I ended up getting a 29 gallon for around 100.00. I really wished i got the 55 gallon for about 160. It really depends i dont have much options here the pet store tanks are a little more expesive probably better product but they had a 55 gallon with no filter for about 300.00. Just go to your local stores and check them out before you buy one and find out someone else had a better deal. The starter tanks are good to get you going because they usually have everything you need for the first couple of months especially the bigger tanks.

yeah all together your looking anywhere from 70 to 100 dollars, that is if you want to do this right. you want to make sure you have a pleco in there also just to help with the cleaning, and their like 5 bucks

Depends on where you buy the tank, fish and if you get a package deal. I would NOT buy fish at a store like Wal-mart, their fish tend to have health issues and die relatively easy, I suggest going to a pet shop to buy the fish.

Tetras are hardy enough fish, go with a 20 gal starter kit about 70 bucks I believe, the food, water conditioner, gravel and ornaments amount can vary. The bare necessities, cartridges, food etc… is about 20 bucks though, you decide how much you want to spend on decoration.

For a 20 gallon tank, maybe 30, 40 bucks the filter could be anywhere from 25-50 depending on what kind. Gravel is only about 7 or 8 for a 20 gal. You might want some plants real or fake, really cheap. So about 100 bucks or so.
