Malawi Tank Video! Cichlid, Mbuna, African Fish, Aquarium
This is my 300l (ca. 75 gal.) malawi tank with fishes / cichlids / mbuna from lake Malawi, east africa. My Malawi tank / aquarium is decorated only with rocks, this is necessary because mbuna from lake malawi are rock dwelling cichlids. Mbuna like rocks, caves and sand, so the malawi tank has to be decorated with huge stones. They are quite agressive and territoral at times but belong to the most beautiful and colorful sweetwater fishes.
In my Malawi tank, i keep Labeotropheus trewavasae, Tropheops Macrophtalmus, Pseudotropheus Saulosi, Maylandia Estherae, Labidochromis Hongi and Labidochromis caeruleus (Yellow). Especially the Labeotropheus and Tropheops are mbuna / mbunas that look very good and show interesting behaviour.
Tropheops macrophthalmus is the only mbuna / cichlid / fish in my malawi tank that has got a name. And no, its not nemo! I call him “Saddam” because he is sometimes a little tyrant!

i hav a 90 gallon tank, n it accomodates 1 tiger oscar, 1 albino tiger oscar, 1 firemouth, 1 red devil, a pair of green terror and a pair of jewel cichlids. i need suggestions n advices from guys like u to make my tank a better place to live for my fishes.

Thought you/anybody can help me out.
I have Kenyi Juvies about 2.0″~2.25″, dominent male is golden yellow, other males are brownish yellow and my females were all blue with black stripes.
I’ve notice that some of the females stripes are fading in this batch.Does anyone know what’s happening? I notice that the females that had breed turns brownish blue and the one who never had breed keeps blue coloring(but fades as they get larger.

beautiful tank and great variety of fish. I’ve got some africans I caught in a warm spring in Idaho in one of my ponds. I think they are psudotropheus but??
I’ll have to set up a tank for them this fall.

if you keep a cave …
if you keep a cave at the bottom of the tank a crayfish won’t pose a problem, that said mine likes to hunt at night so new fish do sometimes get nipped. keep the temp at 24-26deg C and he won’t grow too fast and the fish should be okay. thats my experience of it anyway, hope it helps
