I read authors of aquarium books use this line many times: you cannot over filtrate an aquarium. Pretty much, the more filtration, the better. However if you choose to put a lot of filtration on one aquarium, always be aware of whether the fish are having any type of trouble swimming in one place. If they are unable to keep themselves upright or are having trouble swimming, you should reduce filtration flow immediately.

Thanks so much, I have been wanting to add some extra filtration to our tanks. =) Those are things most people already have. We got a great deal on some power heads so now I can put them to use.
