@zellthemedic I get …
@zellthemedic I get like that some times, I’m sorry. I just get annoyed when it’s said that it’s not innovative because I can fully agree it’s not really “original” and it’s not like it’s a state of the art break though but still innovative none the less right?
@ronspeck Sorry …
@ronspeck Sorry didn’t finish post, I’m not arguing that it’s been done before and I don’t take offense you’re not starting anything =]
@zinodikudu I know

@ronspeck, I don’t …
@ronspeck, I don’t want to start anything, but some of the early Cray supercomputers were cooled with mineral oil. And while this is neat, and pretty innovative still considering today’s standards, it’s definitely been done before.
Just hope that clears things up.
Cheers.

@ronspeck Dude… …
@ronspeck Dude…calm down. You’re being ridiculous for no reason. I just merely pointed out that this isn’t as innovative as people are making this out to be. You’re overreacting way too much.
Two questions:
1. …
Two questions:
1. Is that actually more efficiant/cheaper than the water cooling system?
2. Why did You guys submerged mechanical parts? (hdd/powersuply fan/coolers) Doesn’t this lower RPM? Didn’t any of the fans/hd simply stop working after a while?
@zellthemedic It’s …
@zellthemedic It’s innovative because it’s not a “standard” design, just because it’s not off the wall spectacular doesn’t mean the general idea isn’t innovative and people like you just can’t get that through your thick skulls because you’re all over judgmental of ideas that arn’t your own.
@ronspeck @koflan …
@ronspeck @koflan How would putting it in an aquarium be innovative? It’s nowhere near innovative. They put it in an aquarium because they needed a box that would keep the mineral oil from leaking.
@zellthemedic It’s …
@zellthemedic It’s not the oil that makes it innovative lol. It’s the design Mr. Observant.

@ErikLiberty Yes, …
@ErikLiberty Yes, because they don’t have any moving components. Hard drives actually need air to work. When the HDD spins up, the air moved by the spinning platters pushes the heads up so they don’t scrape off the CoCrPt alloy, which, by the way, contains your data. : )

@Abraxas20012 yes …
@Abraxas20012 yes it would cool it fine. would need maybe one 240mm radiator. your an idiot and know nothing of thermal dynamics, you shouldnt be discussing hardware. you tell me what will happen when you cpu is that nice chilly 30′c and your northbridge is hitting 55′c while the silicoln wafer inbetween is being bent and distorted. most system instablility when overclocking is cause by temp differences on the motherboard. with immersion cooling the whole board is cooled equally with no hotspots
