Rescued pup, summer 2007 at the Vancouver Aquarium’s Marine Mammal Rescue Centre. Over the past 45 years the Vancouver Aquarium has rescued and rehabilitated almost 2000 marine mammals. If you see a distressed marine mammal: Stay back, keep pets away, observe from a distance and report your observations to the local authorities.

Seal babies are so cute!! as the rest cubs in fact… congratulations to all those who are fighting for these animals’ well being and take care of them… STOP THE SEAL-HUNT!!!! they are so little..so defenseless..so sweet..they are living creatures, let them live!!!!!!

The canadian government is a hypocrite. they let the vancouver aquarium rescue baby seals and yet they let heartless sealers club them! What the is that? I love baby seals and they deserve to live their lives not turned into an ugly coat or hat, or whatever. Thank god for the vancouver aquarium. Thank you for taking care of her <3

@jackstrawfrmwchta As a proud Canadian, I fully support our traditional industries! I am not against the seal hunt as it is very profitable for many East Coasters, however I am not for it either. I wish they could find a less invasive, cruel, heartless way of killing the animals. Clubbing just seems incredibly archaic and brutal.
I grew up in Canada …
I grew up in Canada and we used to hunt these all the time. They’re not too bright. You can just walk right up to them and whack ‘em in the head with a club. Not very sporting true, but the meat was pretty good eating, and it used to be you could get a lot of money for the hides of the pups. Probably not worth too much today though. Those anti-fur nut jobs have pretty much ruined the fur industry. It’s a shame if you ask me.

I love harp seals and seals of all kinds! They have always been my favorite animal! Stop the brutal slaughter of these precious and innocent creatures! How can one bear to live with the guilt of killing such a cute and sweet little being????

He would have died without his mother though. I think they did a good thing by taking care of him. However, we as humans should be shamed of ourselves for hunting baby seals in Canada and for killing dolphins in Taiji, Japan. If only there was a way to stop the killings. =(
