Height 120cm OPEN BOTTOM TANK That is how you maintain an open bottom fish tank. Simple and easy. No need to remove rock, plant, fish etc etc. Siphon out the dirt and top up the same amount of water you removed. Just ten minutes and the job is done ! UPRIGHT NORMAL TANK Cleaning a normal upright tank with a similar height of 120cm is much more difficult. Removing dirt from the bottom is not easy unless the water level is reduced and rock is removed. Readhing out at this height is another problem. ALGAE IN AQUARIUM Like mould in our homes, algae in aquariums cannot be completely prevented or stopped from growing. Algae growth will occur naturally in any healty aquarium, no matter how well maintained it is. Once algae take root in an aquarium, they can grow very rapidly if the conditions are right. Like other plants, algae need light, water and nutrients to grow. . Since the aquarium is a body of water, you’ll have to control the other two factors — light and nutrients — in order to prevent an algae scourge. AMMONIA POISONING Ammonia poisoning can occur in a variety of circumstances. Sometime it happens in a newly setup tank, but may also occur in an established tank when too many new fish are added at one time. Failure of filters may also trigger this condition. It is crucial for the aquarist to know the causes and the effects of ammonia toxicity in order to provide swift remedy, since ammonia poisoning is one of the major killers of aquarium fish. I had a 15″ bottum feeder cat fish and he did not do shit I got rid of he cuz he did nothing good for the tank after he was removed the water health was better
i said sucker fish not buttum feeder catfish DUUUUUH!
most catfish are buttum feeders duuuh
do some research before you say inything
@PoftheBR there ya go, for people who do not want to build from scratch and have the money, they could use a 40 gal long and 20 gallon tall in the center…
how often do you clean the tanks?
well that some shit i would not want, i would wonder what would happen if the power went out! Hopefully u put it out side or in the garrage or something, poor fishes!lol
nothing would happen if the power went out, it is just like holding a cup upside down filled with water in a sink or tub. there would not be any pressure pressing on the upper part of the tank but the pressure pressing from the pond section holds the upper section up.
LOL i tried to scroll up thinking i would see the top half of the tank. Fail
I think Ftprimp meant a plecostomus… not a catfish, though similar, pleco’s are usually more talented in the art of tank cleaning
no, it’s fine =)
never seen one them
@nosyiam Yes I think. The fish will have too much stress and die.
Try getting rid of some ghost shrimp. They only eat/clean glasses so as the apple snails.
Other fish could eat smaller fish, so beware.
Is 3 swordtails 4 ghost shrimp 3 albino corys and 1 snail to much for a 20 gallon long tank with a filter for a 30 gallon tank
no, that seems just about right.
WOW. i want to try something like this…
you are great at style aquariums!
this is utterly amazing. I’ve never heard of this until I stumbled across it.
No Room for error there…
the thing u use looks like the thins the little sister use in bioshock ;p
If dirt collects on the bottom of a bare-bottom aquarium like that, you need more filtration.
A tank like that should have enough flow to push dirt on the bottom toward a filter intake.
lol u shouldnt even need to clean it! put an under tank filter with a thin layer of gravel to cover its uglyness n itss do the rest! right?
BIG FRIGGIN DEAL
i like this fish tank… artistic… i have got one huge but simple…
what is that magnetic brush you are using? that’s f*ing gangster
@714JN Um it’s a siphon… It’s sucking the water out like a vacuum…
@ellenino 2:20
@714JN Oh fair enough lol… I didn’t watch that far… And they are very easily available hehe… I think most tanks have a magnetic cleaner
