  4. TheAquariumKid Says:

i jsut setted up a 29 gallon fish tank and used a florite substrate base

  5. TheAquariumKid Says:

thats for aggersive fish for calm fish its 1in of fish for every gallon

  6. recorps1 Says:

@foulksey after you add the chemicals for bacteria does the water goe mirky, and should it ??

  7. hhnguy Says:

@caliburn0911 yes this will alw time for the tank to cycle completely it takes longer for saltwater.

  8. supertasticasianFTW Says:

@TheAquariumKid no, dont ever follow such a stupid rule. A 1″ dwarf puffer needs 30 gallons. A bala shark needs 50 when young. a school of 5 neon tetras should have 20-30 gallons to be happy and each only get to about 1-1 1/2″.

Seriously, ask an expert or an aquarium veteran they will tell you thats BS, its just a marketing ploy for people to buy more fish.

  9. supertasticasianFTW Says:

@caliburn0911 no, you need to wait about 3 weeks. Start the nitrogen cycle or your fish will die. Try it

  10. Classyusername Says:

A dwarf puffer would freak out in a 30 gallon tank.
Its far better off in a 10 gallon as it has less territory to defend.

  11. polevaulter6916 Says:

i never had an issue i waited 2 days

  12. mikesds1 Says:

hey nice fish!! i just gotta horseface loach he/shes in my baby tank check it out i heard theyre kinda rare and thats the 1st i saw 1 to buy so i did lol

  13. Tetley007 Says:

i like how he says “start with a substrate” but dosnt tell what that is, where to get it, what type to get, or how much.
If i knew that already i wouldnt be watching an instructional video!

    @supertasticasianFTW

What you say is not complietely true , its true that neons need 20 gals, puffer needs 30, and so on. Just a 20 gal with 5 neons still has alot of room for other fish.

  15. cloudcally Says:

    You should use bioboost

  16. srdjanBOSNIA Says:

it is not true! i wait only one day! :D

  17. runescapesteven Says:

  18. sirspiff Says:

what is that tester you use? it looks really easy to use..almost like a litmus test.

  19. keyair123 Says:

what is meant by “cycle the aquarium?” and what is the biological additive and what is it used for?

  20. vett3l0l Says:

@saltwaterfishguy427 all you need is to find the pretty fish, like the l183!

  21. HopesCharm Says:

    1. Do you just use tap water to fill the tank? Bottled?
    2. What’s a GFCI outlet? Is it the same as a surge protector?

  22. NavySEALsSpectator Says:

@HopesCharm If U have guppies no they will die put in spring water or from a river and if u dont wanna clean its tank get a mudsucker

  23. xdcmasterx Says:

Thanks for the help ! =]

  24. The0Burger0King Says:

Do I need a biological additive if I have some gravel and a filter from another aquarium?

  25. defiythelie Says:

    @keyair123

cyclely the tank is adding decaying mass to the tank so that bactria can grow. this bactria is what brakes down the fish poo and other decaying matter. If you add fish when cycling they may die from high amonia levels. During the cycle amonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels will riase and fall while the bactria spreads.
