I’m decorating my newt’s ten gallon tank with bright or neon colors. I don’t want to keep buying all tthe decorations from the store because that gets really expensive. Does anyone have an idea for how to make safe, bright-colored aquarium decor from stuff at home?

well, i know you dont want to buy…but i saw some neon colored aquarium gravel and ornaments/plants at walmart the other day, and they werent that expensive, so maybe you could take a look at ur local walmart!

New aquarium with no fish yet. What looks like dirt is on my decorations and I know it isn’t that. Any clue? It’s very heavy in some places.

I’m having a very difficult time finding aquarium decorations that are safe for tanks that are surf themed. I do have a palm tree, but I cannot find a surf board or a hula girl.

I’ve never bought decorations online, but thatpetplace.com has some great great prices and selections. I’ve ordered from them plenty of times for other aquarium supplies and have never had a problem with them.

I would care to make my own freshwater aquarium decorations, specifically, The Alamo. What can I use to make it that would be safe for my future fish? I was thinking more along the lining of creating it with plaster or something along those lines, that is not water soluable, and is non-toxic.

You could paint rock with non-toxic paint and place the rocks in the aquarium…You could bunch up a bunch of grass and tie it all together to look like a bale of hay (for your cowboy fish) lol
