Answer by pleccy Hi,Saltwater aquariums are totally different to freshwater tanks. Marine fish (such as Clownfish) come from an environment in which certain parameters (such as pH and salinity) hardly ever change. The best piece of ‘equipment’ would be a good book on marine fish. Make sure you do plenty of research before spending any money on equipment as what you want to keep will influence what you will need.

Question by : How to clean aquarium equipment? Well, in my 20 gallon freshwater aquarium I realized this morning that I have a slight case of brown algae, diatoms right? I have had had this aquarium since late March and cycled it with fish. The brown algae is only on the very top of this large decoration I have, and on the top of this smaller decoration. I have some cleaning equipment, but it’s been sitting out for a while and I would like to clean it before I use it on the decorations. So, how do I clean these things without endangering my fish? Thanks in advance!Also, I use Aqueon Filter Cartridges, are they reusable? If so, how do I rinse them?

So anyways all of my equipment is hooked onto a power bar you know the power strip thing that has a switch. my equipment are the lights, heater, airpump, and filter. So here’s the thing my angelfish wont eat from the top of the surface because they are scared of the current of the filter and the air pump i guess. so everytime when i feed them i have to switch the switch off on my power bar that turns off everything. I was wondering that if i do this 2 times everyday will it damage my equipment? Thanks for any answers!!

Answer by Kyle it will burn ur light-colored and other electronic equipment out quicker.but get a lighter powered filter for ur fish, the strong current will stress them
