Pesticide foggers and effects on aquarium supplies and surfaces?

Howdy all.

I have a 100 gal reef tank. In my garage I am having problems with black widows. I have many aquarium supplies housed in the garage. My concern on using the fogger is the residue it might(?) leave on everything in there. I would obviously remove all the aquarium supplies, but my concern is if i go grab something from the garage, and i’m in there frequently, would a residue be all over everything that could affect my tank if my next action was to put my hand in the tank? I have thus far opted out of using the foggers. I do not honestly like to use any toxic chemicals with or without a aquarium. I have been using an organic pesticide to spay the spiders I can find. My only concern is that they are black widows, and I have heard they cause one of the most painful invenomations of any venomous being. Any help or inforamtion would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Sean

Unfortunately yes, the residue can pose a threat to your tank. Just like bombing for fleas etc. Tank filters need to be turned off as well as covered during fogging.

The residue eventually looses its potancy. Remove the aquarium items when bombing or spraying. Just remember to wash your hands, any decorations you may want to put into the tank prior to placing them in the tank and you should be fine.

They are nasty spiders.

Where can I buy cheap, colorful fish and aquarium supplies?

I love the neon-colored fish that are at Petco. They are very bright orange, pink, and yellow. I love how they look, but they cost $7.00. I enjoy my aquarium, but would love to spend less as anyone would. I, also, need one new statue and one cave for the fish. Where can I buy that for cheap money? Thank you, in advance, for answering.

i don’t like to spend too much for a beautiful aqurium and beautiful fish so i always buy from the site above cuz it kinda way cheaper than petco.

I also think they have cheap aquarium supplies because i bought a cave for my 75 gallon tank which cost me $25 but it was big, cost $55 in our local petstore.

Also try liveaquaria…http://liveaquaria.com

Hope this help you!

What site do you recommend for aquarium supplies?

I am a new marine aquarist and I’m trying to find a good website that sells various salt water tank supplies, such as tanks, filters, skimmers, etc. I am also looking for a trusted supplier of tank furniture that can support 150+ gallon aquariums.
I’m in the U.S.

Bigalsonline.com has an excellent selection and great prices. Drsfosterandsmith.com also has an excellent selection and good prices. Petsmart.com is good too. With Petsmart.com, you can print out their on-line prices and bring it to their stores and they will honor the on-line price.
