I just bought feeder guppies the other day and they had babies the very next morning. I am currently keeping the fry in a jar away from adult guppies. So my question is how long until my feeder fry grow large enough to be put back with parents? I am not gonna feed these to my other fish.

Fry grow faster in warm water, 80 degrees, and really good water quality. Not something that will happen in a jar. Sometimes the parents don’t bother with them right from birth. Just depends on the fish.

How do you think they ship guppies by mail w/o hurting them? Do they just put them in a clear cup with a special lid or what? Its cuz I want to sell guppies online but I dont know how to ship them w/o dieing?

I really dont know? Im going to give a wild guess and say that you have to put extra food and your going to have to use a big cup and really fast delivery! Try not to mail to somewhere cold or itll die of temperature!

I have a small tank with 4 guppies in it and one of the guppies spends most of its time on the bottom of the tank, it hardly comes up and swims around with the other guppies. The tank has a filter etc, have checked the PH level and the temperature and all is OK there. Is there something else I should be doing?

It could be female and super pregnant, or it could be dying. Does it eat? Does it poop? If it does, and it does not have any visible signs of parasite or fungus, then it is likely healthy. Is it smaller than the rest? Does it hide or does it just prefer to swim at a lower level than the rest? Do you ever see it interacting with the others? Do the others attack it?

I don’t want babies (fry). I just want males that will swim around for my amusement. How many can happily live in a six gallon tank? Any other advice about keeping guppies? Do I really need a heater?
I splurged and got a 10 gallon tank. How many guppies can I get now? It stays a normal temp in my house, and it’s pretty warm down here in TX.

5 males guppies should be OK in that size tank.

A heater is recommended.

Guppies can live in water from about 19-29C, but it’s better for them if it’s stable about 25C.

I’m getting an Eclipse System 6 (6 gallon aquarium) and I still haven’t decided what type of fish I should put in it. I have narrowed my search to neon tetras, guppies, or a betta fish. How many of each fish could I fit into the tank?

neons- 6 to 8 max
bettas- ONE PER TANK!
guppies- 6 to 8 max

Be sure to start up the tank and have it running for at least one week, preferably two weeks with the filter and heater on and the light would be best on a timer, giving it 8-10 hours of light per day. After the 1-2 weeks, start off with just 3 fish of one kind. After another week or two, I would recommend testing your water. If the water is safe, put another 2 or 3 in. Neons require at least 6 of their own kind because they are schooling fish.

The difference is cost. As soon as the turtle has absorbed its yolk sac, it is ready to start chasing fish.

They can be a variation of age. It all depends on how old they were when the pet store bought them and how long they have been for sale in the tanks for. Best idea would be to ask your pet store staff.

Guppies will usually live between 1 and 3 years after you buy them.

I have a 20 gallon and I am planning to buy guppies, I like the fancy guppies but there are a few different types for sale. Would i be able to put in lets say; yellow fancy tail with rainbow fancy tails? Will different types breed and how many guppies can i fit in my 20 gallon?

don’t buy too much guppy, they’re gonna crowd the tank someday.

well if you wanna see more colourful breeds then yes you have to, but remember not too much, and there needs to be more females than males.
