    I just got my first parrot today actually ;) her name is bubbles and she has already started re-decorating the tank to her liking. I really love this fish, it adds character to your tank, especially the 24/7 smile it gives you, so in my opinion, I really love this fish.

    ok thanks, so would you reccomend me putting some small african cichlids in there? or will they fight? and also i can put
    tiger barbs? and what about neon tetras?

  10. lndac02 says:

    @Kelpfinders i …
    @Kelpfinders i agree as a owner of just one. its a lovely fish. its a fish here to stay as well no matter how much purists might complain. The Parrot makes a interesting addition to a tank with the right combination of fish i.e not a community enviroment. I think I would always have a parrot in my tank now. plus if you look after them they can live quite a long time, so its like having a real pet which you don’t get the same kick from with mollys guppys etc..not criticising cuz I love all fish

  11. lndac02 says:

    @STERNOTH They can …
    @STERNOTH They can get very big towards the size of a Oscar. Have a look on youtube, there are some biggies on here. Yes they will eat certain other fish. my one is in with rosy, tiger and odessa barbs and i get no problems at all. he is king of the tank. a pretty fish with a character….Dont put guppys, mollys, platys or similar in with a parrott

  12. STERNOTH says:

    @lndac02 – hey …
    @lndac02 – hey would you know how big they get? and do they eat other fish?

    blood parrotts you …
    blood parrotts you either love em or hate em. I personally love these fish even though they are hybrids. I know purist aquarists have a very jaundiced view on them which i do understand. I think they make interesting viewing in your tank. mine is a very happy non aggressive fish and sits and watches me when i sit and watch him. I hate the fact they tattoo/dye them and wonder how many die in the process. good fish imo but i am biased :)

    You don’t put them …
    You don’t put them with goldfish or tetras either.

    Also, most goldfish are pretty deformed as well. Not sure what you had that killed them but maybe you should do a little research before putting fish like these in with other aggressive fish.
