How many guppies will fit in a 10 gallon tank?
February 27th, 2010 | by admin |Currently have 5 Guppies [ 1 Male, 3 Female, 1 "Fancy" Female. ] One of the normal females looks like she is pregnant, she has the black gravid spots now I beleive and is getting slightly larger each day. Oh, And is there any reason that she is getting more and more colorful each day also?

she maybe giving birth soon and those are warning colors….
if that’s the case, you’re screwed… guppies give birth to large numbers and your tank will become quickly over stocked. See the guppies when they’re larger, give them away if you have to.
your tank can have perhaps 15 fully grown guppies, not the hundreds that will eventually result.

ok at the risk of sounding really stupid teenage males often have spots that are mistaken as gravid spots. perhaps that would explain the colors and growth too. good luck.

A good rule of thumb is 1 fish per gallon of water in your tank.
