Okay; so i got my brine shrimp to hatch (yeah) to feed my guppies with. However; brine shrimp live in salt water and guppies fresh water. So how do I get my little bitty baby brines into the guppy tank without throwing off the pH of the guppy tank? Thanks for the help my guppies will appreciate it a long with myself.
Just scoop about a cup full and pour it into your tank. The guppies will love it and the salt is good for them.
Goto my web site in the Blog and check out the guppie info…you will be amazed what salt does for them.
believe it or not guppies can thrive in a brackish (1/2fresh1/2salt) tank. but to make it easier for you youre going to want to get the brine shrimp adjusted to the fresh water. you can do this by getting a huge plastic fish bad and adding 1-2 cups of the water the brine shrimp were in then adding one cup every hour or adding a half a cup every three hours, until you have 4 cups of fresh in there, then drain the brine shrimp throught a brine shrimp net, and add just the shrimp to your guppy tank. or eventually, you may just want to buy frozen thaw a little bit out and add it your tank instead..either way your guppies will love you!

Not only can guppies survive in brackish, they can survive in full strength seawater if acclimated slowly. I have I group I acclimated beginning in January.
But to clean the baby brine shrimp – If you have one of the hatcheries that uses a 2 liter soda bottle with the air tubing out the bottom – just hold the airline up (so the end that connects to the pump is above the bottle) and unplug the pump. They’ll settle to the bottom. Then slowly lower the free end so the water discharges into a brine shrimp net (like an aquarium net, but with very fine mesh). You just want a little, and the water will come out once the ends are the same level. Lift the free end back above the bottle and reattach the airline to the pump to blow the water back into the bottle. Rinse the shrimp in fresh water, then add them to the tank with the fish.
