punching it in the eye or gills is the official survival information given when being attacked by a shark since its eye is sensitive like ours and when any animal is in a lot of pain they are not thinking to eat anymore but are interested in the pain to stop.

Simply punch it in its eye or gills and it will retreat fast since those are sensitive areas like if you had poked a person in the eye or throat.
