Question by Twist: what sort of background do you use for your aquarium or do you use none?
ive had a cheesy background on mine for a couple years and ive finally decided that its not foolin me or the fish and DOESNTlook well you genuinely cant even see it because of the way the glass mirrors so it equitable looks sinister and drab. what other options do i have, could i paint the back with just regualar latex paint? creative ideas for a non ceesy backdrop in my aquarium would be appreciate.

find the metalic wrapping papers in affiliate colors and just cut to size and its cheap enough to change when your bored

I had a tank with a heater I didn’t use for a while, and I decided to set it up again. I plugged in the heater and the pilot illuminated came on, but a half-hour later the heater blew up and broke in half.

Well if it hasn’t been used in a real long time, yes. But if you’re heater is constantly used it should be good for at least 2-3 years.

I’m doing a project on public aquariums and I want to know how much it costs to run one. Month or annual maintenance costs would be great information for this project. It comes with everything execpt a heater. It has a bubble filter which im not a big fan of, I presonally would replace that with a palm filter.I would go with a femle betta

aqualight has good middle range lighting for aquariums that are t5, fixture and all. coralife is another good lighting product name.

Or does any one know how to make a safe aquarium decor. or do you need to spray a solution on it so that it dont harm the fish?Im hoping to find a white house and then making a berlin wall in the middle and then an USSR building on other side.

LOL – that’s awesome. TRy searching ‘patriotic aquarium decoratoins’ I have been looking at a lot of deco on line and I haven’t seen such a thing though.If you are making it from scratch I have seen people use foam and cement.If I put in a deco that is not actually for an aquarium I coat it with an epoxy (envirotex light) just to make sure.Good luck on your hunt…

If not, where should I put it? I don’t want to use much tubing so I figured why not put it on top of the hood of my aquarium. It is a 29 gallon and no water hits the air pump.

I sure wouldn’t – It might vibrate itself right into the back of the aquarium. Sometimes they will just take to buzzing for no reason, and start moving – air bladder backs up, etc.
