Aquarium

Jenn’s slowly maturing saltwater aquarium (FOWLR) probably occupies more of my focus and time spent in the living room than our TV ever did. There ARE some fish in there… but they all lean to hide.

Every year at the Sony Centre in Ginza there is an Aquarium outside the building. This view is through that aquarium to the neon lit streets of the region
Funky Jellyfish light.

Map of LocationThis gallery room had a cool light in it – and wholly the portraits were just frames onto the jellyfish tanks. A real neat look.

Gotta love the clownfish. No matter how cliche it may be, they’re an easy favorite.Taken with lens hood pressed firmly against a clean spot of aquarium glass.

I’m sure Pixar collected its royalties for this…
Polished front pane

Most of the frayed and clouded sanded, buffed and polished from the front pane. The aquarium is now ready for water prove.I didn’t bother with side panes as it will be next to a wall and I intend to just grow coralline algae on it so I left it with haze and scrapes to ease algal migration.
This is not good. It’s the top of my 300 gallon reef tank.

Aquarium

My father-in-law has spent months building a salt water aquarium. It’s pretty much the coolest aquarium I’ve ever seen. Looking inside of it is like looking at the best, most bountiful tide pool ever. The fish were pretty shy so they are all hiding from me here, but he has a mated pair of Cardinal fish, clown fish, some African types (tin’t remember), dozens of hermit crabs, anemone, coral, and even a sea urchin. He’s still adding to his aquarium but so far the whole thing is a miniature ecosystem and completely self-sustaining. The aquarium lights are even set on timers that mimic daylight, dusk, and night. I’m fascinated by it.
