This is a Weipro 50watt aquarium heater. It can be completely submerged and it best used for 5-15 gallon aquairums. As mentioned in the video, the best location to place a heater is near a waterflow such as a filter or an airstone. This is because e having water flowing directly past the heater more quickly and evenly disperses heated water throughout the tank.

Question by porkstar3: Why does my aquarium heater get too hot?
I have it set on the lowest setting and it maintaining on heating up to 85 degrees. Is it defective or do I need to do something different? It’s a 100 watt heater in a 20 gallon tall freshwater tank with an airstone and whisper power filter that genuinely churns up the water?

How much does it use (15 gallon heater). Like one buck or so of electricity?

If the heater is – say 50Watts and is on half the time (temp of the room will make a BIG difference here), then on average the heater is taking 25WH of power per hourThis equates to 40 hours per KWH – say 10p / 20cSo… four hours per penny or two hours per cent.6p a day42p a week£1.80 ish a month£22 approx per year
