I am currently changing my goldfish tank to a tropical tank and vice versa. Goldfish assume’t need a heater, and I wear’t desire to buy another heater.

No it will not overheat your tank assuming the heater doesn’t fail in the on position.

Question by chocolate: Is it okay to have the aquarium heater right under the filter?
I have an EHEIM jager heater (fully submersible) and an aquaclear 110 filter. Is it okay to have the heater just a few inches under the filter or does it have to be away from the water flow?

I have my heater right next to the filter, and it doesn’t hurt anything. I think that it’s good to have it there that way the heater will heat the strain water flow. Just make sure to have the heater far from the thermometer if you have one.

it’s a bummer when you put your feet in the massage tub and after 3 minutes it’s getting too cold. Would be nice if I could put an aquarium heater inside to keep it warm for longer. Only questions is – are they reasoned safe for such purpose?… Thanks, Yuval

I put this aquarium heater in my tank, ( its an all glass submersiahle) and water droplets get on the top of it, by the knob.. is this ok or am I going to shock my fish

The heater should be completely under the waterThe temperature control wont work properly and could over/under heat the water and damage your fish

Submersible heaters are usually “streamlined” and generally either entirely encased in rubber/plastic or have a rubber top with a glazing cylinder containing the heat element. They usually employ suction cups to stick to the tank underwater. They usually have a small knob on top to adjust the temp.Non-submersible heaters are usually made to hang/clip on the side of the tank with only the glass tube submerged.

I just bought a Tetra Aquatic Reptile heater for my turtle’s 20 gallon tank but it’s not seeming to heat the tank at all. It’s been plugged in and in there for almost 5 hrs and it doesn’t seem to be working yet. Has anyone had one of these before? And how quick did it start to work?

Trust me it isnt gonna work i had one of those if its the one that you put the suction cups to the bottom of the tank and it has something that you open it isnt gonna work. Go get another one or get 2 heat lamps with 60 watt bulbs. I traded the heater back to the petstore and they gave me a heat lamp for it with a crayfish. Sorry for your lose!
