Do I need a protein skimmer in my saltwater aquarium? I have a sump tank and live rocks, but everytime I blow off my rocks or stir up my crushed coral an opauqe cloudy dust gets stirred up and is not getting filtered probably because it’s too small. Will a protein skimmer help, and if so what is the best type to get for a 35 gallon tank. Where is the best place to purchase one? Thanks.

What type/size aquarium does my leopard frog need to be comfortable and not drown his self?
I have a leopard frog tadpole and was wondering what size aquarium he needs and what type of decor and rocks do they like? I have read that as adults if hey are bored they will drown there selves, is that true? If you know of any websites or have any tips please let me know. Also how often should i feed it as a tadpole and frog? what should he be eating? i gave him some boiled lettuce last night.
How to disinfect rocks from the backyard to put into aquarium?
I found some pretty cool stones, and I want to use them in my cichlid aquarium. They’re not porous, they’re slabs of rock.
Right now I have them soaking in boiling water, and a high concentration of aquarium salt.
Will they be safe in my aquarium after this?
I expect the hot water and salt to kill any microorganisms that may hard my fish.
I just hate paying for a dumb rock at the store. How do they prepare their rocks to be aquarium safe?
How to clean aquarium rocks after disease?
Have an aquarium which had ick which came after buying gold fish from a giant discount retailer store, they died along with all the fish in the tank. Don’t want to mention names but it should be easy to figure out. I have emptied and cleaned the tank and accessories with ammonia water and need to know if I can reuse the rocks or should I get new ones.
Can the rocks be cleaned and still be ok to use? If so, how do I clean them?

How do I start aquarium plants from seeds?
We just bought a beta fish for our daughter. I got a package of 3 aquarium plant seeds from the store as well. However, it didn’t have any starting instructions? do I plop the seeds in the water? do I plant it in the rocks in the aquarium? do I start it in dirt? I have no idea..Our sons friends said to put the seed in the aquarium and it would sprout roots–its been a week- we are changing the water.The beta is fine the seed… not so fine.

How do you convert a saltwater aquarium to a freshwater aquarium?
I recently purchased an aquarium from somebody that was using it as a saltwater aquarium. It is very dirty and has salt caked all over it. I need to clean off all the algae and salt. Do I just use water and a scrubber or is there more to it? I read somewhere to use vinegar, anyone ever heard of this? Also what is a protein scimmer? The tank came with all types of stuff that I’m not familiar with. Can I keep any of the decor that was in the tank if I rinse it off? Thanks for any advice you can give.
I already have 5 fancy tailed goldfish and 2 small catfish in my other tank that I plan on transferring into this tank. The decor is mostly rocks and fake plants. I removed all of the old gravel because I want to use the rocks that I had in my old tank.
It came with 2 filters a dual bio-wheel and the the one that uses rocks with charcoal. I was planning on keeping the filters and replacing what I can with new stuff. Or can I clean the pads and wheels as well as the casing?
red eared slider turtle tank habitat 125 gal custom aquarium
My 125 Gallon turtle tank. Home made canopy, overflow and wet dry bucket trickle filter system, low maintenance and very clean. two red eared slider turtles with 5 gold fish and 5 minnows. Built entire system for about $400, got tank and stand almost free off craigs list, had to reenforce stand and paint black to match decor. Rocks I got from construction left overs (free). They love their new basking area and large area to swim around. Tank is undersized by 15 – 25 gallons of water since its 10 gal for every inch of turle so next tank will need to be bigger once they grow a bit more.
