Dry it out really good ASAP, use a hairdryer if you need to, full chance it is ticket, if doesn’t come back on, take it to where you purchase replacement bulbs and try to see if ballast and fixture still good (save you from having to return bulb)happened to me a million times, prob okps, make damn certain it and hands dry before plug back in to avoid shock, but most of all to avoid frying it if not already

I purchased a live plant for my 75 gal. fish tank about 8 months ago. It had what I thought was some beautiful algae on it. Sadly, it was hair algae and has since taken over the tank and ALL decorations. I have purchased Aquarium Pharmaceutical Algaefix and treat regularly but I am loosing the fight. Has anyone successfully conquered the fight with hair algae in a large fish tank? Please share the secret.

Question by Morgan: What aquarium filter would work best in this tank under these circumstances?
I have a tank that is 1′ by 2′ and about 16″ deep. I also have an animal in it that produces a lot of waste, but is extremely stressed nether heavy water flow, and as it stands even with the filter, I’ll have to do partial water changes every week.It isn’t EXACTLY a fish, it’s an axolotl, and it is quite common to have to do partial water changes every week, no matter how good your filter is.

Im sorry, I can not seem to understand the oppugned, have you attempt a filter baffle if the flow is too much?

Question by deathb4deny: Is my 30 gallon tank safe on my tv stand?
I have a tv stand that says it supports up to 92 lbs, and I have a 29 gallon tank on it right now. It’s not an entertainment stands, my dvd and bluray player are on shelves beneath, but the tv is above on the wall, away from the aquarium. I was told as long as I wear’t move the ramped it won’t matter, but I’m equitable really paranoid about it, there’s no other room in my room where I can put it, and the ramping is sitting on support beams if that helps, but I just desire to make certain that it won’t collapse in the near future. I’ve had the tank for almost 3 days, we filled it up half way when we got it, and put decorations etc in it today, and filled it up all the way. I guess my question is is this safe, or should I rearrange and make room for a stand?

Water weighs about 8.5 pounds per gallon so your tank would weigh about 240 lbs not including contents inside I have my 20 on a tv stand but it holds over 300lbs

I’m guessing the covering lighting of the aquarium wears out over time. Is there a general rule to the changing the bulbs? If so, how often (e.g. once a year, etc)? Thanks
