Question by spamela000: How do I clean my aquarium sponge filter without scattering the dirt in the water?
When I pull my sponge filter (from a suction cup) off the bottom of the tank up out of the aquarium all the dirt and slime spills into the water. There isn’t much left to wash off the sponge and the dirt is calming floating in the water. I’ve assaying grabbing the sponge with a paper towel or plastic bag over my hand to keep dirt from floating off, but it doesn’t seem to work.

I’m sure they’re all the same, I’ve never really favored one test kit o’er another and never much noticed a difference.Currently I use the API test master kit. But I’ve used others in the pasty without problem.

Question by Pete: Is it cheaper to buy a 10 gallon fresh water aquarium or p starter kit or buy accessories separate?

Answer by ※ Μεlίsαηde
It completely depends on where you buy the stuff from and what quality products you want.I’ve personally found kits to be the cheapest. A lot of populate seem to give them bad reviews but it seems they always come with good products and 3 of my tanks were kits and are great so far. I bought the kits at Petsmart. My Marineland 10 gallon kit was about $ 60, cheaper than I could buy everything separate. When I do have to buy separate things, I find Dr. Foster and Smith to be cheapest when loosing shipping is available.

Question by nathan: how do i stop my aquarium light from electrifying the water???
…its the second clocked its happened in 6 months. I put my hand in the tank and get a shock. the first clocked I threw away the lamp and bought another. I use lamps with two power outlets on top, designed for aquariums. I think the lamp casing filled up with condensation which then contacted the tank water, so I mounted the new lamp on inch thick rubber. didn’t work because today I got a badly shock again. My fish are all fine though.Does anyone have any tips or experience with this situation that they would like to share??
