I have two Bolivian rams and they both scratch themselves on the gravel in the tank and every so often I can spot about three white spots on them, they are quite small and are nowhere near each other and sometimes they go and then I’ll spot another one the next day. I’m pretty sure its not white spot or velvet disease because theres only a couple of spots at a time, does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be?

  7. darnit20 says:

hiya to the comment below it sounds like you deffinatly have white spot………it starts off like that then suddenly takes over your tank lol

  8. vahram86 says:

once in my 10 gallon tank a white spot showed up and I thought that it’ll go away alone by time, yet I was wrong, each day I wake up I started to see 3 or 4 new dead fish till they all died, like 20 fish or so, so about this white spot, IFF & ONLY IFF your fish is a temperature tolerant then 28 degrees celsius will kill the white spots, add some salt, some water change and WHITE SPOT MEDICINE IS D MOST IMPORTANT THING TO ADD…

For the past 24 hours my pleco has been torpedoeing from the bottom of the tank to the top and bumping his nose on the glass lid. He does this several times an hour. I cleaned the tank yesterday and added a piece of driftwood for him. I boiled it for several hours and soaked it for a week before adding it to the tank. He’s in a 75 gallon tank with a fluval 405 and tank length bubble wall. Someone mentioned to me he might need more oxygen but I don’t know?

  15. chuzziii says:

I tested the water and the ph was a little high. Hopefully that was it.
