This is definitely one of the best Expert Village videos I’ve seen so far on the subject of Aquariums. This guy, unlike many other “experts,” actually knows what he’s talking about. Keep it up! Beginners need to hear from people like you who appreciate the hobby.

water change as in taking the fish out put it in a bucket dump the water out the tank clean it and put water in it and put the fish back?

  11. kusayshey says:

    Hi bruce

  12. synirr says:

Water change as in leaving the fish in the tank, draining about 25% of the water in the aquarium with a syphon, and refilling with fresh water. Water changes are key to keeping an aquarium healthy.

  13. spankses says:

noooo! never that. syphon abdout a quarter from the bottom of the tank. leaving evrything where it is, a gravel vac is great fpr cleaning and syphoning at the same time.

  14. usuck261 says:

no get a gravel vac leave the fish in and take 25% to 30% of the water weely ok

  15. lachyyt says:

  18. kaleluk31 says:

When putting real wood in a fish tank, doesn’t it make the fish tank messy?

  19. kaleluk31 says:

    the white gravel

im trying to choose a gravel that would best reflect the ocean because i have a tropical tank so i thought of white

but im concerned that in a short period of time the white gravel will go pale or dull and look horrible so im not sure what to choose

  20. Whuntmore says:

Finally, someone who knows what they’re talking about. And for water changes, I usually change 10% twice a week – It’s not as drastic as doing a 20-30% once a week.
