There is a reason you are getting conflicting advice, the higher the water temperature the lower the amount of oxygen that the water can hold. You should set the temperature to what your fish likes. I know that sounds dumb but it works best, if it is to hot your fish will act sluggish because of the lack of oxygen, if it is to cold he will huddle around the heater and be slightly skittish never stopping or hovering in one spot for to long. Most tropical fish like water temperatures in the upper 70′s. I usually set my tanks to about 78 degrees Fahrenheit in a 30 gal tank, and a little higher in a 60 gal about 80 because of the size difference.

Freshwater or Saltwater tropical? Not familiar with the term Biorb I don’t think. It’s not ringing a bell…

most people will tell you upper 70′s,78-79….what ive found to work best for my fresh water tropicals is to keep it right between 80 and 82…….that solves any problems with ich because it can’t survive at 80 and the fish love it as well

I have been keeping fish since the 80s and I suggest an average temperature of about 75 F or 24 C.

78 F on tropical freshwater fish.

I think you have a bio reef style aquarium. The temp needs to be around 76* for freshwater fish. If saltwater, can be a bit higher. You can email me with additional information. I am a pet store owner of 10 years and 15 sales prior to that–please advise
